Our day begins in the hilltop town of Savoca, famous for its role in The Godfather directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
We’ll visit:
- The iconic Bar Vitelli, a must-see for movie lovers.
- The Church of Santa Lucia (or San Nicolò), where Michael Corleone’s wedding scene was filmed.
- The majestic Mother Church, a peaceful spot with stunning views and historic atmosphere.
You’ll have time to wander the quiet cobbled streets, take in the views, and soak up the village’s timeless vibe.
🏛 Taormina – Strolling through elegance and history
Next, we head down to the coast for a guided walk through the enchanting town of Taormina, world-renowned for its charm, beauty, and Mediterranean flair.
We’ll explore Corso Umberto, Taormina’s elegant main street, filled with artisan shops, historical buildings, and gorgeous viewpoints.
Highlights include:
- Piazza IX Aprile, with its famous panoramic terrace
- The Cathedral of San Nicola (outside visit)
- The Greek-Roman Theatre (optional visit, entrance not included) – one of the most spectacular ancient theatres in the world, offering views of Mount Etna and the coastline.

🏞 Castelmola – A view like a drone, with your feet on the ground
In the afternoon, we’ll climb to the hilltop village of Castelmola, perched at 500 meters above sea level.
From here, you’ll enjoy 360° panoramic views of Taormina, the Ionian Sea, Mount Etna, and even Calabria on clear days – a feeling like flying a drone with your own eyes.
Take time to explore this charming little town and, if you’d like, stop at a local café to taste the famous almond wine, a unique specialty of Castelmola.
